Companion Family Dog
The White Swiss Shepherd Dog is an ideal family dog, it is renowned for its kind temperament, loyalty and friendliness towards children. The breed is lively, intelligent and attentive, eager to learn and thrives on stimuli and challenges, primarily a companion family dog but capable of various canine disciplines e.g. Agility, Obedience, Flyballl, Showing. They become totally devoted to their owners and family so they do not always do well living outside of the home away from their family members, they also require regular amounts of exercise as without this they could soon become vocal, bored and possibly destructive. They are a good choice for families where someone is at home for a large amount of the day.

Appearance
A well-muscled, medium sized dog with a top line that is level and firm, slightly longer than tall with an attractive white coat which comes in two varieties medium-coat and long-coat. It is an elegant, attractive dog with dark brown, almond shaped, eyes. Their eye rims are black as are their paw pads, lips and nose although some dogs, especially those living in a colder climate, may have a lighter nose known as a ‘snow nose’

Health
Health issues in the breed include Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, Joint Issues, Allergies (skin & digestion), Bloat
Weight: Males: 30 - 40kgs. Females: 25 - 35kgs
Height at the withers: Males: 58 - 66cms. Females: 53 - 61cms.
Life expectancy for the White Swiss Shepherd Dog is between 12 to 14 years.

Grooming

A heavy shedder but easy to groom, regular grooming is required.
